Christmas stuff...

On Christmas morning we broke the frozen ground with a pick-axe to get at the last of the parsnips. They were so sweet when roasted and disappeared rapidly

Those Dogs

This is a picture of the dogs and mum . Sam and Juno our two dogs have made it on the Ballyfuit blog at last. We've have had Sam for 10 years now. Juno is the newest member of our faimly. Mum is happy to walk them when ever she's not cleaning up a mess.

The Giants's Causeway

On Saturday August 1st we set off for Northern Ireland. The weather was pretty por but the forecast was to improve. Not a hope! It rained all day but as we say we didn't go for the weather. We had planned on camping in west Donegal but the weather was so bad we decided to come home. Four hundred and twenty miles, 14 hours and some dodgy fast food but mission accomplished!

A number of years ago Isobel drew two pictures of what she hoped for and called them 'My dream home'.
The reality now is remarkably close to her vision.
Well done Izzy!

The Island

We spent an amazing weekend on an Island on Lough Corrib. It was wet and it was cold., but we had fun. We fished and eat off a fire. The food was great. Tasted like smoke! The kids named Island Faggot Island for reasons best known to themselves! We took the boat out on the choppy waters and survived. Hannagh and Finn pitched the tent we slept in. Twas a rough night. "Ahoi! Faggot Island!"

Pearl's chicks

Pearl's chicks spent their first full day outside wandering in the wild wide world and had their first encounter with Geimhreidh (geevra) , our oversized white cat, who is as big as most dogs we know.

Horses

We were blessed with Sweetie on the 12 of March in 2006. She's got sweet itch but that doesn't reflect on her name, she is sweet.
We were blessed with Monty in October last year. Fat as they are they are as cute as they are lovely!
Sweetie: Grey
Monty: Bay

The newest arrivals

Swallows nested in the shed and the four chicks have just fledged. This photo was taken when they were about a week old.
